Chronic scratching is a problem for many pet owners. Even if you are successful in breaking your cats of the habit, their nails can still unintentionally scratch your surfaces in your house and your skin, not to mention scratching each other during fights. So far so good.
So, my cat is relatively young and can be at times quite hyper. She loves to hide behind things and then jump out and attack your legs. I live with my mom who is taking blood thinners. If she bleeds, there’s a possibility she won’t stop bleeding and end up in the ER. After my cat scratched her, she didn’t want to take anymore chances.
Trimming her nails and filing them smooth didn’t seem to help either. I have done a college research paper on cat declawing and have concluded that it is very selfish, unnecessary, and inhumane. So I picked the Kitty Caps at the local Petsmart.
That night I attempted to put the caps on my kitty’s claws. I must warn you that this glue is STRONG. I ended up gluing my fingers together lol and when I tried putting the cap with the glue in it already on her claw she pulled her paw away, ending up gluing her claw inside her “toe skin”. So, we had a bit of a time with warm water, nail polish remover, and lots of scrubbing. I decided to blame the product rather than my own blunderings.
The next day, when I was a little more rational and clear headed, I decided to give it another go. I did everything carefully and just slipped the caps over her claws giving her treats in between cap applications. I was worried that she would be irritated and try chewing the caps off. No, not at all. She seemed perfectly fine with it. Just went about as if nothing happened and I haven’t caught her trying to chew them off yet.
This is such a great product and a much better option than declawing. She looks so cute and pretty with her glittery pink claws.
And now my mom and I can play with her without worrying about getting scratched from a friendly yet overly enthusiastic swipe of a paw.

After putting these on, which she did not really hold still for, they only stayed on for a few minutes to a few hours. There was one that did stay on for a few days. I would not purchase these again and are just a hassle. We are doing just fine now clipping her claws.

|These work great! Offer colors that Soft Claws do not and come in colorful kitten sized caps too!,
It is so nice to finally have “Soft Claws” like caps that not only fit kittens, but come in more than colors just clear! These work great and our kittens and cats do not mind them on. And my color choices are great, not to mention they are a lot less money than the other caps I have found! Great product!
